Vertical shaft impact crushers accelerate the material to be crushed through a high energy rotor. This patented design moves the material into a crushing chamber and gives the “rock on rock” (autogenous) crushing action. Sandvik VSI crushers can operate within an open circuit as well as a closed, with product gradation further controlled by the rotational speed of the rotor. It then goes through the Bi-Flow gates into the crushing chamber, going through channels to hit from the opposite direction of where the material is coming from the rotor. This technique ensures efficiency and perfect output every time.
